2026 Full 7 Round NFL Mock Draft

Finally, It’s time for my favorite mock of year! After countless hours of research and trial runs, the draft is just about here which means I can take my stab at predicting the entire thing. Every year, I take a shot at a full 7 round mock with my goal being to predict the picks as correctly as possible.

This mock will once again contain trades, but I’m sticking to first round trades only. It gets too difficult to predict additional trades after round 1.

If you want to view all of the picks for a certain team or even skip the commentary, I've added an easy to filter spreadsheet here: CardiO 7 Round Mock Spreadsheet

This is my last full mock of the 2026 draft season, but I will most likely be putting out a final Round 1 addendum the day of the draft. Things are constantly changing leading up to the draft and the addendum allows me to adjust to all of the new info that comes out while finishing rounds 2-7. Without further ado, let’s get rippin’:

Round 1:

1. Las Vegas Raiders - QB Fernando Mendoza Indiana:

As always, this first pick is easy. It’s happening, and Raider fans should be excited. The core of this team is way better than it was last season, but they still aren’t 100% there. After grabbing Kirk Cousins to guide Mendoza and ease his transition, some additional value adds to the offensive cast have become Vegas' top priority. Drafting a future WR1 and someone to compete at RT/G on Day 2/early Day 3 would be a great start. Help this man succeed!

2. New York Jets - Edge/LB Arvell Reese Ohio State:

It seems pretty clear at this point that New York is poised to take one of the draft's premier Edge Rushers here at 2. This is as hard a decision at number 2 that I can remember. You have two phenomenal talents on the board here with very different skillsets. Texas Tech's David Bailey is an elite pass-rushing talent with a 5-star get-off and the pure speed to chase plays down from the backside, but he leaves a bit to be desired in most facets of the run game. Reese, on the other hand, is a freakish athlete with experience at both off-the-ball linebacker and Edge. Reese is the more well-rounded player from day one with as high a ceiling as I can remember, while Bailey will inject his future team with immediate pass-rush star power and Pro Bowl potential. I have The Jets swinging back Reese’s direction this time as I believe his potential is just a bit higher (Both players have HOF caliber traits) and he’s a better fit for the hybrid defense Aaron Glenn likes to run. Bailey is likely a better value-add in year one at a major position of need, but you have to think long-term if you’re a second year HC for a team this lacking in talent. Either way, The Jets can’t go wrong taking one of these two guys.

Pick 3 TRADE Arizona Cardinals to Kansas City Chiefs

Chiefs get #3 and 5th Rounder (#143) - Cardinals get #9, #29, and a 2027 3rd Rounder

3. Kansas City Chiefs - Edge David Bailey Texas Tech:

This is another pick I've gone back and forth on. In my Post-Comnbine mock, I had KC moving up to this same pick and grabbing Bailey for a slightly lower price. Then, I fell in-line with the over-reaction to Spencer Fano's arm length and had Arizona staying put here to ensure they get their future RT. This time, I'm back on the David Bailey train but with a bit higher of a fee. I can't see Bailey or Reese falling outside of the top 4, while I love the Jeremiyah Love-Titans fit, I think Saleh has to add one of these premier Edges if given the chance. Therefore, I'd expect a few teams to contact the Cards looking to get up and KC has the most to give. In this case, they lose out on some valuable capital but add a true superstar Edge who will take this defense to the next level. The Chiefs have got to get better in the trenches to return to form and I believe they made the McDuffie trade with faith in their ability to develop later round picks on the perimiter and an understanding that adding sure-fire talent upfront is a must. For Arizona, the Cards feel fine moving back and grabbing either Francis Mauigoa or Spencer Fano at RT, while adding another 1st to ensure they get an important piece of their future a bit later on in the round (more on this to come).

4. Tennessee Titans - HB Jeremiyah Love Notre Dame:

I said it earlier, but I absolutely love the fit of Jeremiyah Love to the Titans. I know this is trending right now, but on paper this feels like a doubtful pick due to the undervaluing of the Runningback position. However, if we take a look at Robert Saleh's squad, it becomes clear that the Titans have remarkably rebuilt themselves into a solid all-around roster. Don't mistake that for "ready" or a win-now team, but a team that doesn't have major holes and can afford to continue their rebuild by taking best available here at 4. The Titans have 3 picks inside of the top 70, the way I see it, they would ideally add a starting Edge Rusher on defense and two pieces to Cam Ward's supporting cast on offense. Jeremiyah Love checks the second box as both a superstar potential runningback and a big-play weapon in the recieving game. This would be a great fit for Tennessee.

5. New York Giants - LB Sonny Styles Ohio State:

This is another one that I was very back and forth on, I could see the Giants going with either Styles or Carnell Tate here. I found myself leaning towards Styles for a few reasons. First off, when you look at best available, Styles is not just the top guy on the board but he's far ahead of the other options at his position. Secondly, John Harbaugh is known for running his defense through his Inside Linebackers, and Styles would be the perfect player to carry on that tradition and ease Harbaugh's transistion to the big apple. Lastly, New York can easily add an updgrade at their WR2 spot on day two, while finding a defensive player with the instant impact ability Styles has outside of this pick will be impossible. Styles is a bigger need fill at this point in addition to being the top guy on the board, the only thing holding me back a bit here is positional value.

6. Cleveland Browns - WR Carnell Tate Ohio State:

Cleveland's going to have to hold their breath a bit on draft day but if Tate makes it to their pick at 6, this is the definition of a slam dunk fit. Tate is a day 1, WR1, who can stretch the field and catch just about anything thrown his way. The Browns are lacking in true pass-catching talent and Tate will quickly bring stability to the offensive arsenal. Not to mention, he's an Ohio State Buckeye. The only way I see Cleveland passing on Tate is if his former teammate Arvell Reese were somehow available. Where things get tricky is if Tate and Reese both happen to be gone. I know a lot of people want Monroe Freeling for them but I'm not seeing it this high. I was totally prepared to go Caleb Downs or trade back at 6 if The Giants stole Tate at 5.

7. Washington Commanders - CB Mansoor Delane LSU:

I know Washington added Amik Robertson in Free Agency and drafted 2nd round Corners the last two years, but this defense needs to get better against the pass and their attempt at getting a lockdown CB with Marshon Lattimore in '24 fell famously flat. Delane is an outstanding talent and he'd form a beastley trio with Trey Amos on the opposite side and Mike Sinristil playing out of the slot. The Commanders did a great job of solidifying their roster in Free Agency so that they won't feel desperate on draft day. Despite showing a decent bit of interest in the draft's top WRs (Specifically Makai Lemon), I have a strong feeling that they'll be all-in on upgrading the secondary here if Styles or a top Edge doesn't surprisingly slide. I have Delane higher on my big board than OSU's Caleb Downs and the positional value supports that ranking. I see Washington agreeing with me an adding a future superstar on the outside.

8. New Orleans Saints - WR Makai Lemon USC:

I’ve had NOLA adding a Cornerback all draft season, and the CB position just got harder to pass up on (see Jermod McCoy’s Pro Day), but somehow I’m switching up to WR here. The Saints are another team that has paid a lot of attention to the draft’s top WRs, and Lemon is a guy who’s picking up a ton of steam. At this point, I believe both McCoy and Lemon have to be locked into the top 10, but another Pro Day is the biggest driver in my decision here: Jordyn Tyson’s. Unlike McCoy, Tyson was unable to put a workout together (although he allegedly still plans to), combine that with the larger injury history he faced at ASU, and that clear-cut top 3 WR group drops to 2. The Draft’s CB group is trending up while the core of top wideouts is thinning out. Chris Olave still needs a long-term deal as well. With this pick, the Saints add to Tyler Shough’s toolset, get some insurance in case extension talks with their current WR1 break down, and add the last of the top 2 at a very premium position. McCoy could still be in play, but I think Lemon is their preferred move.

9. Arizona Cardinals - OT Francis Mauigoa Miami:

The way I see it, this is how it needs to work out for Arizona. The Cards have two massive holes, QB (obviously) and RT. A lot of people think there’s a chance they stay put and take the Jets’ leftovers at Edge. Despite the clear value, that would be a huge mistake! Monti Ossenfort has invested a ton in the Edge group in his short time as the Cardinals' GM. He drafted BJ Ojulari in the 2nd, gave Zaven Collins a solid extension, traded for Baron Browning, and then broke the bank for Josh Sweat. Arizona needs to let this group play out before investing more of their highest-value capital in it. OT should be the move for them in the top 10, and while they aren’t desperate for picks, moving back from 3 is the best way to maximize that value. It all works out here as they slide back 6 spots, grab another 1st and a day 2 pick next year, and still get their pick of the litter at Tackle.

10. New York Giants - CB Jermod McCoy Tennessee:

If you haven’t heard it yet, this is a guy who could easily hear his name called anywhere from 5 to 10. A lot was riding on McCoy’s pro day. I thought he was a top 15 pick if the workout went solid, but he could slide out of the top 20 if he couldn’t showcase a full recovery from the ACL tear that caused him to miss all of ‘25. Not only did he showcase that recovery, but he looked great. The testing numbers will ease the concerns around the injury and push evaluators to focus on his 2024 tape, which is also phenomenal. There's a chance that McCoy could now be in position to be the Draft's CB1, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't land within the first 10 regardless. After trading away Dexter Lawrence, and with Tate off the board, I have the Giants doubling down on defense here with the stellar Cornerback. Corner has been a long-standing issue for the G-Men and is another position that’s been critical to John Harbaugh’s past successes. McCoy and Mansoor Delane are both likely in play with New York’s first pick at 5, but they can afford to wait there since they have multiple great options. I can definitely understand the line of thinking that New York should load up around Jaxson Dart, but one can argue that giving him a top-flight defense is one of the best things NY can do for the young Quarterback. Adding both Styles and McCoy to this group can change the game for the Giants.

11. Miami Dolphins - Edge Rueben Bain Jr. Miami:

Miami is a tough team to project this year. I’ve been doing these 7-round mocks for over a decade now, and before starting them, I do a deep dive into every roster (contracts, scheme, player grades, etc) to formulate a “needs” list. I can’t remember ever having a team with a “Needs Starter” or “Can Upgrade” flag in so many spots. Miami could take almost any position here and have an immediate upgrade over the starter. They’ve shown a lot of interest in the draft’s top Corners. I believe they’re hoping to get McCoy or Delane here, but that’s not on the menu this time. Instead, I have them opting to grab a player who’s already a household name in the 305 in Rueben Bain Jr. The Phins added three Edges with high pedigrees this offseason that have, unfortunately, underwhelmed in the NFL thus far. I like the upside of that move, especially if the arm length forces Bain to rush as a 3T at the next level, but Bain will instantly solidify the Edge across from Chop Robinson on early downs with that inside/outside versatility in the passing game. He’s a high production, local, add for a team with too many question marks. This would make a ton of sense

12. Dallas Cowboys - S Caleb Downs Ohio State:

The Cowboys' biggest need is to add some upgrades to their secondary. While Corner is a bit bigger of a need than Safety, Downs' smarts and polish allow him to align all over the secondary. He can play from the slot, the box, as a split safety, and even in a single high alignment. Dallas has enough talent on the backend to feel comfortable drafting best available here and using Downs' versatility to enable them to get the best players on the field at all times. He's an immediate star and will be the long-term defensive leader of this Cowboys team. If Downs wasn't a Safety or showcased super high-end athleticism, his on-field impact would have him landing inside the top 5.

13. Los Angeles Rams - TE Kenyon Sadiq Oregon:

I believe LA will be planning to add to Matt Stafford's arsenal here. With Davante Adams' age, Puka's current off-the-field issues, and a general lack of depth at WR, Wideout will be the preferred selection, but McVay and Co. end up going in a bit of a different direction here. The Rams love adding the best player on the board, and it's suited them well in the past. While he's not quite a Reciever, Sadiq is a different kind of weapon. His ability to stretch the seam and be an outlet on designed touches and in the quick game makes him the most valuable slot weapon on the board here. Creative offensive minds like McVay love these types of enigmatic players. In a scheme like this, Sadiq has instant Pro Bowl potential and will turn heads with his rookie year production. It blows my mind that so many people are mocking the freakiest TE prospect we've ever seen outside of the top 15. He may not be a classic Y or your typical TE body type, but Sadiq is a unicorn. I feel like he has to find himself coming off the board somewhere near here.

14. Baltimore Ravens - OL Spencer Fano Utah:

Baltimore's O-Line has fallen from grace the past few seasons, but Jesse Minter will look to kick things off the same way his mentor Jim Harbaugh did at the start of his tenure with the Chargers: take the best Lineman available. This works out really great for Baltimore because of Fano's positional flexibility. I'd expect the Ravens to add another O-Lineman at some point in this draft, depending on what they add, Fano could fill the major hole at Center or upgrade one of the Guard spots in year 1. Ronnie Stanley’s clock at OT is ticking as injuries have mounted and his level of play has dropped off. In the short term, Fano is a very valuable swing tackle in the event Stanley goes down again. Long term, he has the potential to be the LT in Baltimore despite a lack of ideal length. I also had Baltimore looking at a trade-up with Miami at 11 in hopes of grabbing Bain, but the Dolphins chose to stay put and add him to their own arsenal.

15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - OG Olaivavega Ioane PSU:

The Bucs have done a lot of work at Linebacker and Edge in this draft, which happen to be two of their biggest needs. However, I have Guard tagged as a bigger upgrade spot than Edge due to the addition of underrated former Lion Al-Quadin Muhammad. Ioane is the top player on my board by this pick, and I think the depth at Linebacker on day 2 lessens the urgency at that spot for Tampa Bay. The Bucs have done a great job investing early in the O-Line in past drafts, and I expect that to continue here if either Fano or Ioane are on the board. Ioane plays with a nasty temperament and a well-rounded game that will help cement Tampa’s group as a top O-Line in 2026.

16. New York Jets - WR Jordyn Tyson ASU:

I think Dillon Thieneman will be tempting here, but with the way this draft has fallen, I don’t see how the Jets can pass on the WR position at this pick. I think there's a conversation to be had, though, about Tyson versus Indiana's Omar Cooper Jr. To me, Cooper feels like a better complement to Garrett Wilson, and Tyson's durability issues/lack of offseason testing would make me feel more comfortable grabbing him in the early to mid-20s. That said, the Jets have done a lot of work on Tyson and have spent most of their time looking into similar 50/50-ball stars like him. This seems to be the preferred WR archetype to add into their offense, so I expect Tyson to be headed to the Big Apple if he's available come pick 16 on draft day. I also want to mention that I believe New York has interest in Ty Simpson and would consider a small trade-up from 33 to get him, but that they'd view 16 to be too rich for that pick. I'd expect them to go best available here, and if the price to move up is too high later this round, go with an experienced signal caller like Garrett Nussmeier or Carson Beck late day 2.

Pick 17 TRADE Detroit Lions to Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers get #17 - Lions get #21 and a 3rd Rounder (#99)

17. Pittsburgh Steelers - LB C.J. Allen Georgia:

I had Pittsburgh trading up in my post-combine mock and I’m circling back to that here. It just makes too much sense. The draft is in town, the Steelers have a boatload of picks, only a few key needs, and are sitting just slightly outside of the range they need to be in for a few guys that make a ton of sense. Barring a slide for Sonny Styles past 7, I think Pittsburgh is watching Vega Ioane (who comes off the board at 15 in this mock) and C.J. Allen. Once Ioane comes off, the trade-up search begins. If Pittsburgh doesn’t make this move, Allen is in play at 18 to Minnesota or likely off the board at 20 to Dallas. The Steelers have been in need of an every-down field general since Ryan Shazier went down. Devin Bush and Cole Holcomb faced injury issues in the Burgh, and Patrick Queen hasn’t lived up to his contract. Queen has been linked to trade talks, and if he happens to stick around for ‘26, I don’t see him on the roster come ‘27. The rest of the room features a star Sub ‘backer in Payton Wilson, who leaves a lot to be desired in the run game, the opposite situation with Malik Harrison, and the aforementioned Holcomb, who hasn’t quite returned to form following a major 2023 knee injury. Allen would take over Queen’s spot as the every-down guy and quickly become the nerve center of the defense. In a world dominated by pre-draft testing, Allen is another guy who hasn’t been able to indulge in the full process. That won’t affect him much, though, as while he’s a solid athlete, scouts will want him for his smarts, technique, and effort throughout the play.

18. Minnesota Vikings - S Dillon Thieneman Oregon:

While I think the Vikings would’ve considered Allen here, I believe Thieneman was the desired pick to begin with. Contrary to popular belief, Minnesota has a decent safety room despite Harrison Smith’s likely retirement, so I don’t see them being desperate. However, Smith has provided stability to this unit for a long time, I see Minnesota looking to upgrade the roster and restore that stability with their next long term Safety in Thieneman. He’s the perfect fit for Brian Flores’ defense as well, as a guy who can align all across the formation making plays with a mix of instincts and top tier athleticism. Flores will love this addition, and so will Viking fans on Sundays.

19. Carolina Panthers - DL Peter Woods Clemson:

Woods is a guy that I had sliding outside of the 1st round early-on in draft season, but I have him gaining some momentum with each mock since. I don’t think he can end up much higher than this pick but all cards are on the table with him. Athletic and versatile D-Lineman always seem to get a bump come draft day, Walter Nolen last year is a perfect example. Early in the process he was considered an early 2nd round guy, but he climbed all the way up to the 16th pick. Nolen and Woods are both super explosive and toolsy, but display a lack of refinement and scheme fit clarity. Guys like this often fit great in schemes where they can play multiple roles, and Ejiro Evero’s hybrid 3-4 feels like a perfect match. The Panthers could consider sliding back a bit here but I don’t see Woods lasting past the Chargers at 22, I expect him to land himself in this 18 - 22 range. It’s also worth noting that Carolina has been tied to Omar Cooper Jr., I like the player at this pick and the fit/need fill, but taking a WR in the first round for 3 straight years is quite a failure. Let’s hope a playoff team doesn’t go there.

Pick 20 TRADE Dallas Cowboys to Cleveland Browns

Browns get #20 and a 4th Rounder (#112) - Cowboys get #24, a 3rd Rounder (#70), and a 2027 5th Rounder

20. Cleveland Browns - OT Monroe Freeling Georgia:

A lot of people are mocking Freeling inside of the top 10, and many of them have him being Cleveland's pick at 6, but I'm not buying that. Freeling is a raw LT prospect with outstanding size and athleticism, but his small sample size showed that a good bit of work still needs to be done. He should be able to become an adequate starting LT in time, but he needs a lot of technique work and increased strength. That leaves too much to chance for a player to go that high, I think 20 is a really good value for Freeling as I see him as a mid-teens to early 20s prospect. Detroit at 17 is the first spot I could see him landing. Once the Lions slide back, I'm sure teams like Cleveland, San Fran, and potentially Philadelphia begin kicking the tires on a trade-up. The price for Cleveland is relatively small here; they can justify losing a 2027 day 3 pick and a trade back of 42 spots to nab a guy with tremendous upside at one of the most important positions in the game. Freeling and their pick at 6, Carnell Tate, should lay the groundwork for this offense to become a highly respected unit in years to come.

21. Detroit Lions - Edge Akheem Mesidor Miami:

I had Detroit moving back from 17 for two main reasons: 1. They had a massive gap from their second round pick (#50) to their next selection (#118). With a few spots that need enhancing, I think Detroit would love to add some late-day 2/early-day 3 capital. 2. There were several players available that I think would be rated pretty closely for the Lions (Mesidor, Monroe Freeling, TJ Parker, Kayden Proctor), so moving back was pretty low risk. It all worked out as Mesidor is who I had them taking if forced to stay put at 17 anyway. Mesidor is a productive, polished, every-down Edge who would be off the board much higher if he weren't already 25 years old. He's the type of player who's an excellent fit for a contender that's more concerned with getting production right away than what a second contract may look like, and Detroit fits that bill. He'll instantly be the complement to Aidan Hutchinson that they've been looking for and take this defense up several notches.

22. Los Angeles Chargers - DL/Edge Keldric Faulk Auburn:

This is a tough pick. I can see the Chargers going a few ways here, but I think locking down a long-term Edge is going to be top of mind. It’s a bit of a toss-up between Faulk and Clemson’s TJ Parker in the minds of most, but I give Faulk the edge for several reasons. Overall, I think Faulk could land much earlier than most people think. He's a freakish athlete at his size with fantastic alignment versatility, and he's only 20 years old! Faulk is a rare talent at a premium position; prospects like that usually don't last long, and I wouldn't be shocked to see Faulk end up as high as the early teens. Lucky for LA, he lasts here, and they have the perfect roster build and scheme to accommodate him. In classic Harbaugh fashion, the Chargers love over-sized Edges who play with strength and power against the run-game. Faulk will be the next iteration of that in the long-term, but LA has enough talent at Edge to kick him inside if needed while he develops. Faulk won't need to be leaned on right away and will have the luxury of learning behind one of the all-time greats in Khalil Mack. I wanted to mention as well that there is a lot tying LA to Texas A&M Guard Chase Bisontis. He's a dark horse for the first round and could make sense for the Chargers early if they want to solidify their O-Line, but I’d like to see a trade back if that’s the move.

23. Philadelphia Eagles - S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren Toledo:

After the Sydney Brown trade, Philly’s top need is clearly Safety, a position they’re very thin at. The move signals that Cooper DeJean could potentially see more Safety snaps, but even then, they’re still lacking in talent in that group, especially when it comes to Nickel and Dime packages. A few weeks ago, I would’ve thought the chances for McNeil-Warren to last to the Eagles were slim, but we’re trending in that direction now as I hear that scouts view the gap between him and Thieneman a bit bigger than we initially thought (Likely due to the differences in testing and collegiate competition). So, go figure, Howie Roseman lands a player who’s tape suggests he could go much earlier than the Eagles pick. Great get for Philly, these are the types of moves that keep contenders in the race.

24. Dallas Cowboys - LB Anthony Hill Jr. Texas:

Dallas has done a ton of research into the draft’s second tier of linebackers, specifically on Anthony Hill. Linebacker is probably their biggest need after the selection of Caleb Downs at 12, and they don’t have the day 2 firepower to land one of the guys they’ve been looking at (Hill, Jacob Rodriguez, Josiah Trotter, etc.). Once Pittsburgh makes that move for C.J. Allen, I don’t see a world where Dallas stays put at 20. They should be looking to move back a good bit, add to their day 2 arsenal, and grab their preferred ‘backer, which is Anthony Hill Jr. Unfortunately for Dallas, I don’t see them sliding back as much as they’d like or gaining as much capital as they’d want, but they do add another day 2 pick. That means they’ll take Hill a bit earlier than expected, but I don’t think Dallas will mind. Hill is projected as an early second-round player simply because of positional value. When you put on the tape or check the measurements and stats, he sure looks like a top-30 guy. Hill is the epitome of what the linebacker position has been transitioning to; he plays with his hair on fire because of a great pairing of instincts and pure speed. He’s an A+ cover guy in zone with plenty of ability to shut down TEs in man, and he has probably the best pass-rushing production you’ll ever see from a true off-the-ball guy (17 sacks!!). Blitz him, drop him back in coverage, kick him out to the Edge or over the slot, let him play traffic cop over the middle, it doesn’t matter, Hill can do it all. My only gripe with him is that he’s a finesse guy through and through. I’d like to see him play with some more aggression when taking on blocks and finishing tackles at the next level. Now that Hill’s off the board early, it’ll be interesting to see how this affects Jacob Rodriguez, a LB who’s been trending in his own right.

25. Chicago Bears - Edge T.J. Parker Clemson:

If the draft falls this way, Chicago should have one of the easiest picks of the round. The way I see it, the Bears have two spots that need to be addressed early: Safety and Edge. Safety has already played out by this point, with the tier after McNeil-Warren and Thieneman having plenty of talent but no one that I could see crawling up much higher than mid-2nd. T.J. Parker is the clear best available from a scheme fit perspective, plus we’re talking about a guy not far removed from an absolute game-wrecking 11-sack 2024 season. Parker just needs to add a little more depth to his pass-rush repertoire; either way, he should shine in a situation where he can be a complement to a true number 1 like Montez Sweat. This feels like one of those moves that gets a talented contender over the hump. Chicago has also been heavily tied to Zion Young. He’s a possibility here, but I don’t see how a team like this can pass on a pro-ready player like Parker for a guy who’s likely just a run-stuffing upgrade at this point in his career.

26. Buffalo Bills - WR Omar Cooper Jr. Indiana:

The Bills have some other needs that likely should take precedence, but if anything was made clear this offseason, it’s that WR has been a touchy topic in Buffalo since Stefon Diggs’ departure. Joe Brady showed right away that he’s looking to fix that problem and invest in Buffalo’s strengths. While it’s hard to argue that the DJ Moore trade wasn’t an overpay, I think he still has a lot left to give and is a great upgrade to this WR room, but neither he nor Khalil Shakir are capable of being a true long-term WR1 for Josh Allen. Buffalo is lucky to find Cooper hanging around here, but I didn’t see an urgency to trade up because of their heavy interest in Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion. Cooper gives them a lot of what Diggs did as a flexible WR1 capable of winning out wide or in the slot, as well as down the field or on catch and runs. He’s a fantastic player who could end up as high as the mid-to-late teens. I just don’t see many teams prioritizing the position in the middle of the round.

27. San Francisco 49ers -  OT Caleb Lomu Utah:

San Fran has been heavily interested in the late-round WR group. I was very tempted to go KC Concepcion here, and Cooper would've likely been the pick if available. That said, I just can't bring myself to believe that they'd pass on one of these fantastic Tackles. While the Niners have several spots in need of upgrading, their biggest need has to be the O-Line, especially after making several additions to the WR room but showing the line very little Free Agency love. San Fran is in a bit of a contract predicament with LT Trent Williams, and the future HOFer can't play forever. They also have an immediate need at LG and could benefit from finding a long-term center. Lomu is a fantastic athlete. I believe he has a great future at LT, but he could also be a force if kicked inside. Assuming John Lynch is able to keep the Williams situation under control, I see Lomu coming in as a starting Guard for 1 to 3 years before replacing Williams as Brock Purdy's next blind-side protector.

Pick 28 TRADE Houston Texans to Detroit Lions

 Lions get #28 - Texans get a 2nd Rounder (#50), a 5th Rounder (#157), and a 2027 3rd Rounder

28. Detroit Lions -  OT Kayden Proctor Alabama:

Funny enough, this trade takes place between two of the teams that I see as having the lowest number of needs in this draft. The key difference here is that Detroit's biggest need happens to be at OT, which is expected to thin out tremendously between picks 20 and 40, while Houston has several spots they could be interested in upgrading that make a lot more sense in round 2 (DT, CB/S, LB, C). Brad Holmes has done some tremendous work at the draft during his tenure as Detroit's GM, and this would be no different as the Lions find a way to add some day-two capital before shedding some picks to grab an OT who I believe they'd be happy landing all the way up at 17. Proctor is a bit of an enigma in this draft; some think he’s a top 20 lock, while others have him sliding to day 2. The truth is, he’s a bit pigeon-holed as a prospect; not only does he need to find a team that isn't scared off by the weight maintenance issues, but he also needs a scheme that likes these behemoth style Tackles. Detroit could be a perfect fit, as Proctor would slide in as the day 1 starting RT and could even get involved in some trickery like his counterpart Penei Sewell. The additions of Mesidor and Proctor go a long way toward cementing this roster and are well worth the cost.

29. Arizona Cardinals -  QB Ty Simpson Alabama:

Arizona holds their breath when that trade card comes in at 28 and is relieved to find Ty Simpson still available here with their second 1st Round pick. In a perfect world, the Cards would move up last second from their pick at 34, leapfrogging the Jets and landing their long-term guy. However, in this scenario, they can't pass up locking down the needed capital from KC while they're on the clock at 3 and are forced to play a stressful waiting game. With Arizona acquiring this pick so early, the Jets and Cleveland have ample time to consider their options for a trade-up if they want to land Simpson. In both cases, I have both teams deciding that the juice isn't worth the squeeze as they're early in their rebuilds with the promise of a more prolific QB class coming in 2027. Simpson falls to Arizona and should be happy with that result. I believe the Cardinals are the best fit to turn Simpson into a long-term starter. Trades are always hard to predict, but I have a strong feeling that we will see Simpson heading to the desert in the back-end of round 1.

30. Miami Dolphins -  WR Denzel Boston Washington:

As I mentioned earlier, the Dolphins are uniquely positioned to draft best available because of how many needs they truly have. I have three guys rated pretty similarly here, and I think they could all be fits: Boston, Tennessee's Colton Hood at CB, and Clemson's Blake Miller at RT. I have them landing on Denzel Boston, as they seem to have done the most work on him, and their investment in Malik Willis signals that they believe they have their long-term QB1. If that's the case, he desperately needs some help in his supporting cast, and Boston would instantly become his go-to guy down the field. In this scenario, the Jaylen Waddle trade nets them an additional 3rd Rounder and a younger WR1 on a rookie contract; that's a solid move for a team in a complete rebuild.

31. New England Patriots -  Edge Cashius Howell Texas A&M:

I had this selection on the last mock too, and I absolutely love this pick. These are the types of moves that championship contenders need to make. Howell would immediately take New England's defense to the next level as a bona fide pressure machine off the Edge. This is a player who displays top 15 athleticism, production, and get-off, but he's awfully undersized. Howell needs to find the right fit in a team that can maximize those great strengths while putting him in positions that limit the impact of his deficiencies. Mike Vrabel is the perfect coach to work a guy like Howell into the scheme. Even if he never becomes a successful early-down edge-setter, Howell will be a phenomenal situational speed-rusher from the get-go and has the ceiling of a perennial double-digit sack guy. Again, as a contender, this is the type of move NE needs to stay at the top of the race.

32. Seattle Seahawks -  CB Colton Hood Tennessee:

This is a tough pick to end the round on. Free Agency left Seattle a lot thinner at two positions that were key to their Super Bowl run: Running Back and Corner. While I love the fit of Jadarian Price here and he’s become the consensus pick for Seattle at 32, I can’t see it actually happening. People are quick to forget that the majority of Kenneth Walker’s tenure under Mike Macdonald was marred by half of his touches being given to far less efficient RBs. Outside of this year’s playoff, the Seahawks have shown time and time again that they’d prefer a committee approach, and you can’t justify that if you take a HB at 32. Schematically, Cornerback has been a key in Macdonald’s defense, and I doubt he feels comfortable rolling out Josh Jobe as his unquestioned CB2. Colton Hood is also the better talent here; the only concern I have with Hood is a general lack of playtime/experience. When Hood’s played, he’s been an asset in every facet of the game. I think Seattle prefers to land a Corner here, but if Price were the desired pick, I think they're looking to move back, and I can't find a fit for a jump up to 32.
